OKC vs POR Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Portland Trail Blazers will be looking for their first win over Oklahoma City Thunder this season when they host Paul George and Co. in a regular season matchup at Moda Center, in Portland, Oregon, United States, on Friday morning (IST).

As the regular season is heading towards its business end, the playoff picture is getting clearer. Some teams are in danger of missing out on the coveted post-season, and some are in the midst of a tussle. While there are teams who have all but sealed their fate. To some degrees, both Portland Trail Blazers and Oklahoma City Thunder are just a week or two away from securing their position in the top-8.

Now for them, it’s all about calculation, the position on the table, and the possible opponent they can face in the first round. There are no easy matchup in the Western Conference, but few teams are more formidable and stronger, so avoiding them makes a sense.

As things stand, both Blazers and Thunder are deadlocked with Houston Rockets in the race for the playoffs, with each team boasting a 39-25 record. Leaders Golden State Warriors (44-20) and 2nd placed Denver Nuggets (43-21) look untouchable, which leaves these teams fighting for their own positions.

If we take the current standings into consideration, Portland and Oklahoma may meet in the first round. If that happens, Blazers may want to win this game for psychological boost having lost all the three games against OKC this season. A complete whitewash in the series won’t be the ideal preparations for the playoffs.

In terms of form, Blazers are on a decent run, though they have lost twice in the last three games. However, before losing 119-117 to Toronto bRaptros, Blazers were on a five-game winning run.

However, Oklahoma City Thunder are in the midst of a little slump. Thunder are 4-6 in the last 10 games, and it can surely be blamed on Paul George’s absence. He is fit now, so expect Thunder to improve on their recent performance.

Last time around, Thunder went down 131-120 against Minnesota Timberwolves. Russell Westbrook had the team’s best efforts, scoring 38 points and 13 rebounds, while Paul George scored 25 points.

Regular Season Record-
Portland Trail Blazers:
W-39, L-25
Oklahoma City Thunder:
W-39, L-25

Players to watch out for:

Portland Trail Blazers:
Damian Lillard –
Much of Portland Trail Blazers’ playoffs hopes hinges on Damian Lillard’s performance. But based on what we have seen so far in the season, you can be sure that he will be leading his team with aplomb.
The 28-year-old is averaging 25.9 points per game this season, which are coming at a shooting accuracy of around 50%.

CJ McCollum – Often shadowed by Lillard’s presence, but he is an indispensable part of the roster. The 27-year-old is averaging the team’s 2nd best points per game, scoring at 21.1 per game.

Oklahoma City Thunder:
Paul George –
Missed? It will be an understatement as OKC struggled in his absence. But now that he is back, expect him to do what he does with an ultra self-assurance, and that is score points and win games for this team.
The former Indiana Pacers superstar is just on another level and is posing a grave threat to James Harden’s supposed 2nd MVP anointment. He is racking up 28.6 points per game, with the points coming at 32.7 per game in the last 10 matches.

Russell Westbrook – It’s just unbelievable how the player of Russell Westbrook’s ability and stature can be second fiddle in a team. But you can just blame it on George’s extraordinary form. The 2017 MVP is averaging 22.7 points per game. But he is also the only player to average a triple-double this season.

OKC vs POR Dream11 Fantasy Team:

INDIA FANTASY PREDICTION:
It’s a difficult call. Thunder are on a bad run at the moment but can take heart from the fact that they are on a 3-game winning streak against Portland.
However, Blazers are 24-8 in home games this season, while Thunder have gone 17-16 on the road. A win for the hosts is our call.
