ORL vs MEM Dream11: NBA trade deadline is near and I expect the phone to buzz anytime soon, bringing on the news of changes caused by the exchange of players. Ain’t this a fun time, fellas! Teams offload contracts, try to bring in fit, while players look for a change of scenery. A lot goes behind the scenes and thanks to reporters like Brian Windhorst, Adrian Wojnarowski, and various other insiders that bring in the rumors. And well, there are some trades that escape the rumor radar.
Anyway, in this game, the Eastern Conference squad Orlando Magic will play against the Memphis Grizzlies. Magic is having a tough season as expected. The team has a bunch of rookies and sophomores in the lineup, but have still won three of the last four games. Will Magic seek some changes during the trade deadline?
On the other hand, the Memphis Grizzlies have looked ominous by each month. They are one of the deepest teams and their transition from being a late Play-in entrant to a top-three Western Conference squads this season has been incredible. Can the young and sprightly Grizzlies keep up the ante as the All-Star break nears? Host: Orlando Magic Visitors: Memphis Grizzlies Match Timing: 6 February, @ 03:30 AM Venue: Amway Center
Magic: Garnering experience The Orlando Magic has been an inexperienced roster throughout the season due to their lineup combinations. They have a lost a ton of games through the season but didn’t most of us see this coming with the young roster? Orlando has been on various losing streaks and well, it means they are heading toward the draft lottery. This is a common theme for rebuilding teams that can also fall into the habit of losing too much. For me, this has to stop somewhere because it can derail some players’ careers if it goes on for too long.
Magic has two rookies in Suggs and Wagner in the lineup with the latter being more efficient. Suggs is an off-guard while Wagner is a quality wing. On the other hand, one-guard Cole Anthony has had a strong season but has some ways to go in terms of shot selection. Wendel Carter Jr. is a player who the Magic should keep long-term unless there are lucrative trades in exchange for him, because of his immense rebounding abilities and improving scoring. Mo Bamba has been a hit and misses so far while Chuma Okeke has some potential as a dynamic fastbreak type of wing. What can the Magic muster up in long term with the young uns?
Grizzlies: Not your typical young team Memphis Grizzlies are not a typical young team. They have a bunch of first-to-fourth-year players and despite their youth, they have showcased tremendous ability to win throughout the season. The Grizzlies are a prime example of a smooth rebuild and they are not the norm in the league. Even in the last season when Morant was a sophomore, the team reached the playoffs before losing to the Jazz. This has been a great season for the Grizzlies because this time they won’t have to worry about the Play-in tournament.
Grizzlies have been able to lodge two lengthy winning streaks, first winning ten in a row and then eleven in a row, which is why they have such a great record. Memphis has been receiving tremendous contributions from Ja Morant but we know he is a great player since his earlier excursions. It has been the growth of Desmond Bane as an offensive player and Jaren Jackson’s two-way play this season after he missed a large chunk of the last season. With a supporting cast of Adams, Melton, Clarke, Williams, Anderson, and Jones, the team is in for a party during the upcoming postseason.
