The Hornets are having a superb season considering how they struggled last season. Charlotte has built a terrific squad, with the number of offensive options they have. If the Hornets become more physical on the defensive end, this team can enter the higher rankings soon.

The Lakers have been underwhelming all season long considering how they have three superstar-level players. The system hasn’t suited Westbrook so far and I will argue Westbrook is the type of player who needs the reins of a team and ever since he has played alongside superstars such as Harden, Beal, and now LeBron+Davis, his game has fallen off.

Hornets: Offensive galore
The Hornets are a terrific offensive team, this team dropped 158 in the last game versus the Pacers. Not a surprise especially against a below-par offensive team. This team is special in terms of offensive options and really, they have too many isolation players. LaMelo Ball’s ability to grab the board and initiate fastbreak situations make him a terrific option as he has enabled the Hornets to play at a quick pace and get off many shots. However, this team is more than about Ball’s all-around abilities.

Terry Rozier has been phenomenal as a scorer, even leading the team many times. Miles Bridges is having a breakout season offensively. Off the bench, Kelly Oubre brings superb long-range shooting and can go off for big nights. PJ Washington is an enticing player and he can score in double-figures. Cody Martin has done well too. Gordon Hayward, who is sidelined, has been a superb wing with his all-around abilities.

Lakers: Not the type of season they wanted
Lakers have had a disappointing season and they just can’t separate themselves from the 50% win mark and take the next step towards becoming an elite team. The team made a decision to pair up LeBron and Davis with Westbrook but this system hasn’t worked out so far. The squad lacks youth and certainly, the defense has struggled for most parts despite decent improvements recently. It is one thing or the other for this Lakers team, isn’t it? The lack of wins signifies that there needs to be some sort of change soon.

LeBron James has been a big-time scorer this season for the Lakers but that hasn’t been enough. Westbrook has had huge issues adjusting to the Lakers system. He has shot efficiently recently but he has committed way many turnovers throughout the season. Davis is back in the fray but as he came back, LeBron has been sidelined, the so-called big-three hasn’t even played together in many games. Monk has been playing well at the offensive end and Carmelo Anthony has done well off the bench too. Stanley and Bradley are two defensive options while off the bench, Horton-Tucker hasn’t been as effective, Reaves is a rookie, and Howard hasn’t played many minutes. The Lakers need some lift here or they will be a 40-42 wins team by the end of the season.
