SAC vs MIA Dream11: With COVID-19 making the job for NBA athletes even more tenuous in a long season, the league has kept on churning games thanks to the relaxed rules related to quarantine and allowing teams to sign ten-day deal players without a cap. Sometimes it feels like we are seeing a mixture of Summer League and Regular Season squads but yes many of these ten-day deal players have shown that they are no less a pro ball player than the major players of the league.
Anyway, in this game, the Sacramento Kings host the Miami Heat. Miami Heat fielded four ten-day deal players in the last game with many players out, some out due to injuries and other due to the persistent COVID-19 threat.
Meanwhile, the Kings have most of their players back and their regular rotation has been in play for the last couple of games. Still, playing a regular rotation hasn’t worked for Kings, a franchise that keeps finding itself at the margins of the rankings and far removed from the Play-in tournament at this point. For that, there is a lot of underwhelming basketball to blame and even when they were healthy, the Kings have kept on losing games with margins of 15+ or 20+ on a regular basis.
The Heat is the opposite of the Kings in that regard. Not only did they win quite a bit with healthy Adebayo and Butler, but they turned up the heat when both of them went down as the signing of Kyle Lowry has made them better compared to last season. With two leaders like Butler and Lowry, the Heat plays elite brand of basketball on both ends of the floor and that is why they are one of the best and deepest teams in the league. Kings: They have been highly underwhelming The Kings have been involved in multiple games where they go down big, their shooting is cold, their defense is vulnerable and none of the players manage to avoid the big losses. Sacramento gives away big leads way too often and sometimes even after having a strong start, the team loses the advantage pretty quickly. This team is certainly not made for comebacks and these glaring issues have haunted them for years now, it is the manner of the losses even against short-handed teams which is disheartening more than anything. There is the talent with four guards with different capacities in Mitchell, Fox, Haliburton, and Hield but Fox and Hield have been ice-cold recently which has made the matters worse.
Heat: Too much depth It is one thing that when your main Center goes down, your backup Center picks the slack up, but it is another when your backup Center goes down and the player third in line gets around 10+ points and 10+ rebounds a game as the norm. Omer Yurtseven has provided that lift and with Butler and Lowry, the Heat already has an intimidating leadership pairing. Tyler Herro is well-known for his scoring exploits and even if some key pieces like Duncan Robinson and Bam Adebayo are out, what has the Heat accomplished? A five-game winning streak as the team continues to blunt the opposition’s efforts on a regular basis. The Heat is on fire right now.
