Aaron Wiggins WAS vs OKC Dream11

WAS vs OKC Dream11: With COVID-19 raging, injuries piling up, and various managements seeking change, the NBA scenery transforms quickly overnight. With the trade deadline approaching, I am sure a bunch of teams will move many of their players and we could be in for a lot of lineup shuffles, which again, makes for a hectic job. Anyway, at least the league has ticked and unlike other major leagues avoided the postponement of the season. And that is why we are here, discussing the game between Washington Wizards and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Wizards have been having a so-so season, winning 20 and losing 20 so far, not being able to clasp a winning streak of high magnitude. Washington has been inconsistent on both ends and with players like Dinwiddie and Bertans unable to get going at times, there have been problems to keep up against elite teams in close games.

On the other hand, the Thunder, who are in rebuild mode, has won 13 but have piled up 26 losses. Well, despite the abysmal record, the team has done a more than decent job defensively throughout the season and can be building something special Shai-Giddey-Dort-Jeremiah, and if anything, developing high-value trade players to gather a star-level player.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Wizards: They need a winning streak
Washington has been following a chain-win, loss, win, loss. It means that the team is unable to put together a winning streak. Well, there have been some encouraging signs though. Beal, although, he is not scoring at last season’s rate has been scoring 25+, Kuzma has dramatically increased his scoring range by 7-8 points or even more while being a force on rebounds, Gafford has been holding the fort in the middle and Dinwiddie, after a terrible time offensively in December, may have gotten to his 15+ points scoring ways. However, the bench has been underwhelming all season long and doesn’t give much production, which makes it harder to sustain the rhythm especially against teams that are deep and can deploy effective bench players, that is why, except Montrezl Harrell, who has been in and out of the lineup recently, Washington has struggled to find consistent production from their back-up players. That is one area that the Wizards may address through trades, yet, I feel with Hachimura returning, the frontline can be bolstered.

Thunder: At least the youngsters are playing quality defense
The young Thunder team has battled on the defensive end, holding oppositions to 100 or below in many games this season. Their defense has been one of the best recently and it is true that the team has some high-quality two-way players. The lineup lacks experience and there is a significant shortage of offensive options, especially at the big Forward and Center position. And recently, the team has lost its zip on offense even further with both Shai and Dort, the top two scorers struggling to shoot efficiently, just jacking up shots with little results. Giddey has been a revelation in his rookie season, pulling off all-around statistics and showcasing tremendous promise. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl(whose name I like a lot) has been playing some athletic basketball but yes, he is a work in progress right now. Thunder has some decent players who at least battle it out on the defensive end and if they could fix their rebounding a bit more, the team can win more.

NBA Scores, Fantasy Basketball Top Picks

Josh Giddey(OKC)
Points: 11
Rebounds: 07
Assists: 08
Steals: 01

Josh has become a huge triple-double threat just in his rookie year and recently became the youngest player to nab a triple-double. The promising athlete has bagged 10-14 points, 6+ rebounds, and 5+ assists a game consistently this season.
Expected Fantasy Points Range:  28-45

Kyle Kuzma(WAS)
Points: 27
Rebounds: 22
Assists: 01
Blocks: 01

Kuzma is in mid-season form and there is no doubt in my mind that this has been the best stretch of his career. After being inconsistent offensively earlier in the season, the big Forward has scored in the 21-29 points range while grabbing 9+ rebounds constantly.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 38-55

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander(OKC)
Points: 08
Rebounds: 05
Assists: 04
Blocks: 02
Steals: 01
Shai has been having a high-scoring season but he hasn’t shot well recently, not shooting better than 37.5% for five games straight now. The guard has usually scored 20+ points, grabbed 2-5 rebounds, and handed over 4-6 assists a game.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 30-43

Spencer Dinwiddie(WAS)
Points: 08
Rebounds: 07
Assists: 10
Steals: 01
Spencer has had an up-down-up season. He was scoring in the 16-22 points range in October- mid-November then he fell to the 6-9 range in December and recently, he is scoring in the 17-24 range since late December.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 30-44

Luguentz Dort(OKC)
Points: 14
Rebounds: 05
Assists: 01
Blocks: 01
Dort has been the second-option at the wing for the Thunder, however, his shooting percentage has suffered massively during the last few weeks as he has shot below 30% constantly. He has scored in the 14-19 range while usually grabbing 3-5 rebounds a game.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 20-30

WAS vs OKC Dream11 LINEUP BALANCERS

  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope(WAS) bagged 14 points, 3 rebounds in the last contest. Caldwell-Pope has usually scored in the 12-14 points recently.
  • Daniel Gafford(WAS) compiled 12 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 blocks in the last game. Daniel has scored in 12-15 points range and has grabbed 5-8 rebounds per game.

  • Jeremiah Earl-Robinson(OKC) had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals in the last game. Jeremiah has usually scored in the 5-8 points and has grabbed 5-7 rebounds per game.
  • Rui Hachimura(WAS) had 6 points, 3 assists, 1 rebound in the last game. Hachimura shot 2/8 from the floor in his season debut, can he raise his numbers to 15+ points and 5+ rebounds per game soon?
  • Darius Bazley(OKC) had 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks in the last game. Darius has usually scored in the 8-10 points range and has grabbed 4+ rebounds a bunch of times.
  • Raul Neto(WAS) had 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists in the last game. Neto has been inconsistent scoring-wise but has sometimes played decent minutes off the bench.
