Bleed Blue! Show no mercy! - Yuzvendra Chahal's Mantra of success

The wiry framed Yuzvendra Chahal’s wicket-sucking spins have become a nightmare for the Proteas batsmen, but his thirst for wickets doesn’t seem to satiate. Yet another spell of Chahal’s wizardry was seen in the second ODI against South Africa when he returned his career-best figures of 5 for 22 leaving South Africa breathless at 118 at Centurion.

Chahal’s maiden five-wicket haul goes directly into history as he becomes the first spinner to take 5 scalps against South Africa in South Africa in ODI. Also, the Haryana spinner’s bowling figures were the second best recorded by an Indian against South Africa in ODIs. Top spot remains occupied by Sunil Joshi with 5 for 6 in Nairobi in 1999.

The social media was awash with the appreciation for the spin wizard :

Shikhar Dhawan who scored  46 in the match partnering with Virat for 93 runs was also all praises for him and applauded him by nicknaming him ‘mini dynamite’.

Yuzvendra has picked seven wickets in the first two ODIs including his maiden five-for in the second game.

” I go for wickets and I flight the ball. I understand that it may go a six as well, but when you have your skipper and team management backing you, it gives you the confidence to do it. I have played in Bangalore for RCB on faltter wickets than this one, so you need to put your best foot forward here,” said Chahal after winning his man- of-the-match on Sunday.
