The most anticipated match, the most awaited match, the fantasy match of a lifetime. John Cena vs The Undertaker, it happened and it lasted for 2 minutes and 45 seconds. Yes! After a lifetime of the most epics matches at Wrestlemania, the most emotional matches at Wrestlemania, the Undertaker had a squash match at Wrestlemania. Here are 3 possible ways the storyline could pan out:
#3 A Rematch at Wrestlemania 35
Basically The Rock vs Cena at Wrestlemania 28 and 29. The first direction this storyline could head in is a rematch between the two at the next Wrestlemania. Even with the Rock vs Cena, the Rock won the first match and lost the second. This could be what the WWE is planning to do.
#2 Flesh out the story a bit more
Since John and the Undertaker have legacies behind them and no real reason to be facing each other, other than proving who is the best. If the WWE keeps their rematch till next year at Wrestlemania 34 that gives the WWE a lot of time to craft a good storyline detailing both men’s history in the WWE.
We can see how both legends started and how they built to where they are today. The two can cut promos detailing their own hardships they each went through. We can have old friends and foes coming back into the picture to either help or face against. We can see the brothers of destruction reunite once more.
#1 The biggest match of the Undertaker career
With all this build up we will be in for one of the greatest matches not only in the Undertaker’s history but also in Wrestlemania’s history. Unlike the squash match that the two had, the Undertaker can have a year to train and recover to put on a match that would be on par with his Shawn Michael’s match.
The build-up will be great, the story will be emotional and in the end, if the Undertaker comes out on top, the legacy will be complete and will end in a blaze of glory. The anticipation will be high, the hype will be skyrocketing.
All the WWE needs is time and effort into making one of the most memorable matches in WWE history. This match could be an appetizer, a preview of a scared John and a fierce Undertaker. With proper build up and a strong storyline behind them, the match will be written in the history books.
