Yuzvendra Chahal becomes World No.2 after T20 tri-series triumph

Yuzvendra Chahal jumped 12 spots and reached to the second place while as Washington Sundar remarkably climbed 151 places to reach the 31st position in the ICC T20I Player Rankings for bowlers after their performance in the recently concluded Nidahas Trophy Tri-Series in Sri Lanka.

Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has grabbed the second spot with 706 rating points while Man of the series of Nidahas Trophy, Washington Sundar has 496 points in his kitty.

Both the spinners were part of the Indian Team and they picked 8 wickets apiece.

Sundar mainly bowled in the Powerplay at an economy rate of 5.70 while Chahal recorded an economy rate of 6.45 in the tournament.

Other players who made significant gains in the bowling charts on the back of the Nidahas Trophy were Akila Dananjaya of Sri Lanka, Rubel Hossain of Bangladesh and Jaydev Unadkat and Shardul Thakur of India. All of them finished the tournament with their career-best rating points.

Unadkat has reached on joint 52nd position with 435 points and Thakur has gained the 76th position with 358 points.

Shikhar Dhawan, Kusal Perera, Manish Pandey, Mushfiqur Rahim, Kusal Mendis and Dinesh Karthik, the star performer of the final clash against Bangladesh, have made significant gains.

Karthik jumped from No 126 to No 95 with his impressive performance in the tournament with 246 points.

Perera and Mendis moved up 20 spots to 20th and 27th spots to 48th position respectively after their impeccable knocks for Sri Lanka.

Parera was the leading run scorer of the tournament with 204 runs which included three half-centuries. Kusal Mendis amassed 134 runs with two half-centuries.
