Daniel Sams is an Australian all-rounder who bats right-handed and bowls left-arm fast-medium. He is yet to make his international debut for Australia. Daniel Sams earned his first international call up for Australia this August as he was named in the 21-man squad for the white-ball tour of England alongside two other uncapped players, Riley Meredith and Josh Phillipe. The tour is set to begin from September 4, 2020. He was also picked up by the Delhi Capitals in World's biggest T20 League, Dream11 IPL as a replacement for England opener, Jason Roy, who is out with a strain.
Daniel Sams made his first-class debut back in the 2017-2018 season for Canterbury in the Plunket Shield as an overseas player. He averaged 40 with the bat and 31 with the ball in his 3-match stint. He made his List-A debut for New South Wales in the 2018-19 JLT One-day cup in September 2018.
He then was a part of the Sydney Sixers as an injury replacement and had a dream debut as he ended up with match figures of 4-14. This still remains his best bowling figures in the shorter format. He then went on to join Sydney Thunder and was the highest wicket-taker in 2019-20 BBL season with 30 wickets from 17 matches.
