Darren Sammy has led the West Indies to two ICC T20 World cup titles. A Saint Lucian cricketer who represents West Indies at International level, Sammy is only captain to win T20 World Cup twice.

• West Indies won the ICC T20 World Cup tournament twice (2012 & 2016) under his captaincy.
• He became the youngest and the first ever St. Lucian to play for West Indies after making his ODI debut in the 2004 Champions Trophy.
• He also holds the record for hitting the fastest 50 by a West Indies player. He had recorded a half-century in 20 balls against South Africa in 2010.
• He made his Test debut in 2007 against England at Old Trafford where he took 7 wickets for 66 and broke the 57-year-old record of Alf Valentine.

In 2015, during World Cup match against Ireland, he was found guilty of violating ICC Code of Conduct (for using abusive language on the field). He was fined 30 percent of his match fees.

• Sammy is regarded as one of the best T20 captains of West Indies as the Windies have won 2 ICC World Cup tournaments (2012 & 2016) under his leadership.
• Before starting his career as a West Indies cricketer, he worked as an office assistant at the Ministry of Commerce.
•  He got dismissed on a duck on his domestic debut, but he went on to make a half-century in the next match.
