Craig Young is one of the finest talents Irish Cricket is blessed with. Young is a right-handed batsman and bowls right-arm medium pace.
Date of Birth – 4 April 1990
Young started his career with Bready Cricket Club in the North West Senior League. Thereafter, he was named in the squad for Ireland National Under-19 cricket team. In the series he took nine wickets and pocketed an year’s contract with Sussex in 2010. However, injuries are a part and parcel of the game. Young couldn’t play well during this year due to the series of injuries.
Difficult times didn’t last for long. Young made his first debut in an ICC Intercontinental Cup in late 2013. Later, in the early days of the following year he was contracted as an A category player for Ireland and it was then that he made his one-day debut.
Time and again, Young has displayed spectacular performances in various International tournaments. In his One Day International Debut for Ireland he became the ninth player to take five wickets in an ODI. In 2015, Craig recorded his best match figures and scored a big victory for his team.
