Deepak Kumar Shooter: Born on 5 November 1987, Deepak Kumar is an Indian shooter who won the bronze medal at the 2018 ISSF World Cup in Guadalajara in the 10-metre air rifle mixed team event and has secured India’s 10th Tokyo Olympic quota.
The 32-year old Air rifle star won a bronze medal in November last year in the 10m men’s Air Rifle event at the 14th Asian Shooting Championships held in Doha, Qatar. Celebrating his 32nd birthday, Deepak Kumar could not have hoped for a better gift than a medal around his neck and an Olympic quota. Kumar hails from Delhi and is confident of retaining his spot in the Indian team for the second consecutive Olympic campaign.
Deepak works for the Indian Air Force and keeps striving to improve his game. In the last World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, he had shown signs of improvement and even qualified for the final. But that was not quite enough and Doha had become a make-or-break event for Deepak.
