Jeremy Lalrinnunga graced proud moment for India at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG), clinching a Gold Medal in 67 kg weightlifting category.

The star attraction from the Mizoram didn’t take long to make his presence feel at the global stage having first tested glory at the age of 15 in the 2018 Youth Summer Olympics.
Haling from sporting family, Jeremy’s father was a Boxing player at national level. His father was a Junior National Champion as well which guided Jeremy to take first footsteps in the field of sports.
Jeremy first came into limelight in 2018, when he won Gold Medal at the 2015 Youth Summer Olympics. He won the gold medal in the Boys’ 62 kg category. The competition was held in Buenos Aires as Jeremy lifted 274 kg (124 kg in snatch and 150 kg in clean and jerk).
The occasion served as the perfect platform for the young Indian star as he created history. It was also India’s first-ever Youth Olympic Gold medal. In 2019 at the Asian weightlifting championship, Jeremy would add another feather in his impressive cap and won the Silver Medal.
At the age of 16 in 2019, Jeremy had finished 21st in the Men’s 67 kg event. This was the foundation stone for the youngster as he continued to break several records at national level and would rouse to prominence at the international stage.
At the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games the 19-year-old star was at his fluent best clinching a Gold Medal for India in the 67 kg category, with a game record lift of 140kg in snatch and 160kg in clean and jerk.
Jeremy also has a Gold medal at the Commonwealth Championships, held in 2021 in Tashkent.
Jeremy is unmarried and is believed to be single and is often seen spending time in the gym, working on his physic.
