Jisna Mathews is an Indian sprinter who represented the nation in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and was also the part of the Indian Mixed relay team of Muhammad Anas, VK Vismaya and Noah Nirmal which finished at third-place in the World Athletics Championships in Doha and secured a berth in 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The relay team of India made history at the World Athletics Championship as the mixed team reached the finals for the first time and also secured their birth in the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The mixed relay team, comprising of Muhammed Anas, VK Vismaya, Jishna Mathew and Noah Nirmal finished third in the 2nd heat of the semi-finals to qualify for the final of the 4x400m in Doha.
Muhammad Anas took the first lap of the relay race and passed the baton to VK Vismaya who raced ahead of the others, maintaining the lead during most of the second lap. Jisna Mathews took the third lap, but a baton fumble while passing it to Tom nearly cost their chances before Tom edged in to give India a third-place finish.
