Career

Inter-Provincial Cup proved to be a foundation stone for many Irish crickets. One amongst these is Lorcan John Tucker who made his debut in 2017 Inter-Provincial Cup. In the tournament he played for Leinster Lightning under List A. In the same year, he made his first-class debut for the same club in 2017 Inter-Provincial Championship.

On 5 September 2016, Tucker gave his T20I debut against Hong Kong. The year 2017 proved to be magical year for him. Apart from playing the Inter-Provincial tournaments, he was also called to play in replacement of Stuart Thompson following his injury.

In January 2019, Tucker was selected to play for the Oman Quadrangular Series. Also, he was named in the Ireland’s Test, One Day International and T20I team against Afghanistan. However in this series the odds didn’t favour him and he could not play in the tour.

In September 2019, Tucker was named in Ireland’s squad for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament in the United Arab Emirates. Recently in February 2021, Tucker was named in the Ireland Wolves’ squad for their tour to Bangladesh and, in September 2021, Tucker was named in Ireland’s provisional squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
