Bhanuka Ranasinghe is a prolific run-scorer in domestic cricket. He was part of Sri Lanka squad for the 2014 Under-19 World Cup. He made his entry in the domestic cricket in the 2015-16 Premier League tournament. He made heads turn after scoring a scintillating knock of 342 runs while playing for Sinhalese Sports Club in the 2015-16 Premier League Tournament.
He turned up for Kandy for the 2017-18 Super Four Provincial tournament. He turned up for Dambulla in the 2018 SLC T20 League.
Ahead of the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League, Ranasinghe was drafted in Jaffna Stallions.

Minod Bhanuka Ranasinghe was first picked in the national team for the T20 series against Pakistan in 2017. He, however, wasn’t picked in the playing XI. He made his international debut in an ODI match against Pakistan on 2nd October 2019. On 5th October 2019, he made also made his T20 debut against the same team.

Bhanuka was picked for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh. He made his Test debut against South Africa on 3rd January 2021.
Bhanuka has appeared for the two ODIs in the ongoing three-match ODI series against India. He returned with scores of 27 and 36 in the first and second game respectively.
