Muttiah Muralitharan is arguably the greatest bowler of all time. He touched the biggest mark of taking Test wickets and combined wickets 800 and 1347 respectively. Interestingly, the talismanic star of Sri-Lankan cricket has its roots in India. His grandfather Periyasamy Sinasamy shifted to Sri-Lanka from South India in 1920. Murli used to play rugby in school but he joined cricket in his younger days. He left the school when he was called to join Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club.
