Nikhil Chopra is a former cricketer who was considered as a one-day specialist and a handy lower-order batsman. He represented India in 39 One Day Internationals (ODI) and played only a single Test match where he went wicketless against the West Indies.

He was relatively more successful in the shorter format of the game as he picked up 46 wickets and also scored some valuable runs at an average of 15.50, including the highest score of 61. That’s the reason he was picked up for Indian squad for the 1999 World Cup.

Chopra failed to emulate the good start with the Indian team. After clocking his best-figure of 5/21 against West Indies in only the third game, he lacked the consistency to warrant a regular spot in the Indian team. He was dropped from the Indian team after a disastrous Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. He is now a cricket expert.
