Robin Singh (Former India Cricketer)
Rabindra Ramnarayan Singh or Robin Singh is a former Indian cricketer who played for India in 136 ODIs and a single Test between 1989 to 2001 as an all rounder for the Indian side. He has coached Mumbai Indians in the IPL and Barbados Tridents in Caribbean Premier League since 2013. He was the coach of Deccan Chargers in the first edition of the Indian Premier League. During his playing days, he was best known for his on-field agility and his fitness. He was born in Trinidad to an Indo-Trinidadian couple, but Robin Singh decided to travel to India in 1984 and he studied in Madras University. He played college-level cricket there and gradually decided to pursue it as a career. He played a crucial role for Tamil Nadu in Ranji Trophy, 1988 and helped them emerge victorious that season. The same year, he gave up his Trinidad and Tobago passport for becoming an Indian citizen and playing for the Indian national team.
