Safyaan Sharif is a star performer for Scotland cricket. He was the leading wicket-taker for Scotland in the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament held in the United Arab Emirates, with thirteen wickets in seven games.

In the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier match against Zimbabwe, Safyaan registered his best ODI bowling stats taking his first five-wicket haul, giving off just 33 runs off 8.4 overs, and won the man of the match award. Following his performance, the bowler was awarded Scotland’s best bowler of the year honor.
Born on 24 May 1991 in Huddersfield, Safyaan Sharif played for his national side in 2011 at the young age of 20. He was selected in Scotland’s ODI squad against the Netherlands, taking four wickets for 27 runs.
The following month, he played his next One Day Internationals in the tri-nation series against Ireland and Sri Lanka. Sharif continued performing and bettered his skills. In 2011 same year, Shaif made his List A appearances against English counties in the Clydesdale Bank 40.
Meanwhile, his first-class debut came in the 2011-13 ICC Intercontinental Cup against Namibia. Shafiq was part of Scotland’s squad for the World Twenty20 Qualifier against UAE. His domestic and T20 franchise career commenced at the start of 2018.
The rising star of Scotland’s squad was signed by the English side Derbyshire County Cricket Club to perform in the 2018 Royal London One-Day Cup and 2018 t20 Blast tournaments. A year later, he was chosen to play for the Edmonton Royals franchise team in the Global T20 Canada tournament. He also played for Kent in 2021.
Sharif is married to his long-time girlfriend, Safina Sharif. Safyaan and his wife share two loving children. He often posts his family pictures on his Instagram account. Sharif is also believed to be a food lover and is a hard-core non-vegetarian.
