Raina found himself in the center of a raging controversy when in 2013, the former IPL chief Lalit Modi alleged that he, Jadeja, and Bravo had taken bribes from a bookie who was also a builder while playing for CSK.
Prior to the 2016 WT20 S/F, Raina found himself in hot waters again as reports alleged that Sri Lankan Cricket (SLC) was investigating his possible involvement in match-fixing, after being seen with a woman, who was believed to be a close ally of the bookies.
