Taniya Bhatia is a rising young player from Chandigarh who got selected in the senior team for the domestic tournament in 2011. Currently, Bhatia is training under coach RP Singh. Her father was a wicketkeeper and played as a reserve for Punjab’s team, but later he pursued his career in banking. Not only him, but her uncle was also a wicketkeeper. Her father noticed her cricket skill when she was only 7 years old in a casual outing. After that, he enrolled her in a nearby cricket academy. Where she proved her dad right and started taking sports seriously and wanted to follow the family’s lineage. Also, in an interview, she said “Wicket-keeping” came naturally to me.”
