Tim Southee is of the highest wicket takers for New Zealand. An endearing sight of the 2010s, running in and landing the ball on the leg-stump line and to hit the top of off-stump. One-half of one of the most potent fast bowling pairs alongside Trent Boult announced his arrival to International cricket on the back of hugely successful 2008 U-19 World Cup where he emerged as the Player of the tournament.
Southee has been the cornerstone for much of New Zealand’s success in the past ten years. He was New Zealand’s leading wicket-taker (18 wickets at 17.33) in his side’s semi-final finish at the 2011 World Cup and was again at the top of his mark again four years later wherein a sensational spell of swing and seam bowling (7-37) against the English.
Apart from international cricket, Southee has played in various T20 leagues, notably the IPL where he has represented franchises like the Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
