Karnataka Village teenager Vidyadhar Patil is a young medium pacer selected in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup squad. However, his father always wanted him to become a batsman but he has always been keen on bowling since childhood. Hailing from Raichur district of Karnataka, the 10-year-old Patil decided to play cricket for India when MS Dhoni-led India to World cup triumph in 2011. With his determination, he worked hard, impressed selectors with his fast bowling and got rewarded just to wear the Blue jersey for the nation.
From the practice sessions to making it to the national team, Vidyadhar’s successful journey is not that easy. He had to travel 10 km every day for cricket coaching in Raichur. Initially, his father accompanied him but later he commuted by bus and cycled to the coaching center. his first coach Venkat Reddy is proud of the talented lad. He dreams to play India in all three formats.
