Virat Kohli has been reaching several heights in his illustrious career and has stamped his authority as one of the best in the world. The former India captain recently ended his 1020 days run of not scoring an international hundred against Afghanistan. With 71 international hundreds to his name only Sachin Tendulkar has scored more tons than him at the global stage, which again highlights why Virat is one of the best in the history of the game.
The 2011 World Cup-winner has amassed 27 hundreds in the longest format, with only Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar scoring more for India in Tests. He scored his first hundred in Test in January 2012 at the Adelaide Oval against Australia.
Virat and ODI Cricket is a match made in heaven as he is only out staged by Sachin Tendulkar with 49 ODI tons. Virat with 43 tons to his name, could well outclass him with time on his side. Interestingly, only on seven occasions has India lost when Virat has scored ODI hundred, proving his class as a batter.
Virat’s only hundred in T20I so far, will be one to remember as it ended his 1020-day long drought of centuries. Scoring an unbeaten ton against Afghanistan with 122, he regained his form for the national side. This was also his first hundred after relinquishing the captaincy role in all formats.
