Indian Premier League is one trophy that had eluded Virat Kohli. The Royal Challengers Bangalore captain, the longest-serving player at any one team in the tournament’s history, says he wants to win the IPL more than fans of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Kohli has broken several batting records over the course of IPL, but despite the T20 heavyweights like AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle by his side, RCB are yet to win the tournament even once.

After a training session, the RCB captain Kohli said, “More than the fans I want to win the cup. I have been with Bangalore for last 10 years and we haven’t crossed the final hurdle three times. I can assure you, my commitment is going to be 120 percent to try and achieve the goal this time.”

Royal Challengers Bangalore finished at the bottom of the table last season, with only 3 wins in 14 games. However, they got hold of good buys in this year’s auction to bolster the weak links of the squad.

“The batting has been a strong point for RCB over the years, but I think the strengthening of bowling department has been a massive boost for us from this auction. I am very optimistic about our chances heading into this IPL,” added Kohli.

Kohli said he is not worried about the personal performances of the individuals and believes contributing to team culture is more important.
