Among all the records galore, Virat Kohli also surpassed the record of the highest-ever runs tally by a batter in the single edition of an ODI World Cup. The King has overtaken the record of Sachin Tendulkar of 673 runs set in the 2003 edition.

Virat looked in prolific form right from the beginning as he played a match-winning knock against Australia in the opening game. He only grew from there to stay consistent. In fact, the King missed out on a couple of centuries as well as he got out for 95 against New Zealand in the league game and for 88 against Sri Lanka.
