Virat Kohli's 34th ODI Hundred- Kohli racks up another century!

“Amazing things happen when you are thinking about your team all the time,” Virat Kohli quoted after India thrashed their opponents South Africa by 124 runs in the third ODI in Newlands Cape Town.

Undoubtedly, amazing things always happen when Kohli steps on the ground. With two smashing centuries in three ODIs played so far, Indian skipper is truly redefining batting. He played a significant inning on a sluggish pitch, scoring 160 off 159 balls and registered his 34th ODI hundred.

Kohli has surpassed the record of Sourav Ganguly’s 11 centuries in 142 innings to become the Indian ODI captain with most hundreds. Surprisingly, he has achieved this feat in just 43 innings.

Delhi dasher with 318 runs in this series so far has also become the only visiting batsman in a bilateral ODI series to score most number of runs against South Africa in South Africa. Moreover, Kohli also became the second opposition captain after Ricky Ponting to score 150 runs in South Africa.

His 54th International century made him the 5th most prolific century-maker in International cricket after Sachin Tendulkar (100), Ponting (74), Sangakkara(63) and Kallis (62).

His sportsman spirit made this century even more special- “I was cramping towards the end, but I knew I had to stay until the end to get us 300. These are the times when you are tested mentally as well as physically. We wanted to give the spinners the pressure of defending today, and it worked out. The intensity will be more in the fourth game because we can’t lose this series anymore. I’m sure they’ll come to all guns blazing, so we want to close that door,” he said.
