How the teams fared in their opening game?
Australia:
Nick Nurse’s Canada was undoubtedly the biggest hurdle for the Boomers at the Group stage.
However, the North American side proved more than just a challenger for the top spot, as Canada recovered from a 12-point first-half deficit to move ahead by one point going into the penultimate quarter.
But the Australians had too much talent on their roster, too many players of NBA pedigree, and it showed in the clutch situations as Andrej Lemanis’ men brushed aside their opponents in a 32-15 free-flowing and aggressive fourth quarter.
Senegal:
While Senegal were taught a huge lesson by talented Lithuania in their opening game of the World Cup.
It was beyond the term one-sided affair, as the African side was completely bamboozled, losing the match 47-101.
