He started his career from South Australia when he represented his state in 2009 in KFC T20 Big Bash against Queensland. However, his breakthrough moment came when during 2012-13 Ryobi Cup, he took 21 wickets in only 6 matches making his way to the national team of Australia.

Kane is popularly known for his ability of strict bowling in shorter formats of the game. His career rose to success in 2016 with his excellent performance against India at Canberra. In that series, he took 5 wickets and spare 68 runs leading his team to a series win.

Even though Kane Richardson has always impressed selectors and his fans with his performances, he had to struggle a lot with his injury. His constant problem in the back created a tough path for him and he is often overlooked because of Australia’s four main fast bowlers including Mitchell Starc, Josh, Pat Cummins and James.
