Who won today’s IPL match?: Match 9 of the IPL 2022 took place between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals at DY Patil Stadium. The match went down the wire and had many kept on their toes. But in the end it was Joe Buttler’s second IPL ton and Yuzi Chahal’s terrific bowling outclassed Mumbai Indians. Rajasthan Royals completed a comfortable 23 wins and sealed the top spot on the points table.

Asked to bat first, Rajasthan Royals started decently but Jasprit Bumrah and Tymal Mills provided Mumbai with a perfect start and removed Yashasvi Jaiswal (1) and Devdutt Padikkal (7) leaving RR tumbling at 48/2 after the power play. However, after that, it was Jos Buttler’s show. The English batsman notched up his second ton in the league. He was complimented well by Sanju Samson (30) and Shimron Hetmyer (35) as RR posted a mammoth total of 193 runs on the board.

Chasing the target, Mumbai started the same like the Rajasthan did as they lost both Rohit Sharma (10) and Anmolpreet Singh (5) inside the power play. After that Ishan Kishan (54) and Tilak Varma (61) stitched on an incredible 80 time partnership to resurrect MI’s innings. Yuzi Chahal then twisted the tale after he bowled sensational 16th over, where he gave just 1 run and took two wickets. The match saw the twist once again when Kieron Pollard kept Mumbai in hunt with his hitting ability. With 29 runs needed off the last over, the West Indies skipper smashed a four on the first ball but then failed to capitalise on the start and score the remaining runs.
Rajasthan Royals’ batsman Jos Buttler was awarded Player of the Match in today’s encounter against Mumbai Indians. It was no brainer as he smashed his second century in the Indian Premier League. Opening the batting, the keeper-batsman went straightway after the bowling. He smashed Basil Thampi for 24 runs in over and then got going. Buttler reached his ton in just 66 balls. His knock was laced with 11 fours and 5 maximum. His knock of 100 runs also earned him the orange cap.
