Who won today’s IPL match?: In what was a Royals derby, Rajasthan Royals locked horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the match 13th of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The match went down the wire and it saw the Faf du Plessis-led side clinch the victory from the jaws of defeat. The game also witnessed Dinesh Karthik’s staggering finish with the bat that helped RCB win the match by 4 wickets.
Asked to bat first, Rajasthan Royals had been off to apoor start as they lost opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (4) in the second over. After that Jos Buttler (70*) and Devdutt Padikkal (37) stitched a 70-run partnership to steady the innings. Skipper Sanju Samson failed to set stage on the fire this around and fell for just 8 runs. A brutal finish by Buttler and Shimron Hetmyer (37*) helped RR post a total of 169 runs on the board. For RCB, Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers and returned with the figures of 1/18.

Chasing the target, RCB went off the flyer as skipper Faf du Plessis (29) and Anuj Rawat (26) smashed a 50-run partnership inside the powerplay. But after the wicket of the captain, RCB lost Anuj Rawat, Virat Kohli and David Willey within the span of 11 balls and found themselves tumbling at 62/4. After the wicket of Sherfane Rutherford for 5 years, Dinesh Karthik (44*) then bought his side back in the game. He along with Shahbaz Ahmed (45) tonked RR bowlers all over the park for their 50+ plus runs partnership. With 15 runs required of the last 12 balls, the keeper-batsman scored 12 runs in the penultimate over. Harshal Patel then closed the match with with a six in the last over to help RCB win the match by 4 wickets.
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Dinesh Karthik was awarded Man of the match in today’s IPL encounter against Rajasthan Royals. The keeper-batsman came to bat when his side was tumbling at 87/5. The right-hander came out all guns blazing and smashed RR bowlers all over the park. He shifted momentum towards his side when he smashed R Ashwin for 21 runs in 15th over. In the end he remained unbeaten at 44 runs and took his side home with 5 balls remaining and register their second win of the season.
