RCB Playing 11: Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore have started to give shades of previous seasons as they have slumped to three straight defeats and hanging in the middle of the points table. RCB will now take on Chennai Super Kings in match no 49 on Wednesday at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
One of the things to celebrate for RCB is the return in form of Virat Kohli. The former skipper scored a crucial 58 off 53 deliveries in the last game against Gujarat Titans and helped RCB post a formidable score of 170. With Kohli back among runs, it would be interesting to see how he will approach this game and whether or not he will shoot up his strike rate after last match’s 58 off 53.

RCB’s seamers were ineffective in the last game. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s seamers were on their knees in the game against GT. Despite having names like Mohammad Siraj, Josh Hazlewood, and last year’s Purple Cap holder Harshal Patel in their ranks, RCB seamers went for plenty and weren’t able to pick up wickets. They need to put up a great performance against the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway who are fresh from a heroic batting effort against SRH.
Is Dinesh Karthik available? Dinesh Karthik didn’t take the field in the second innings against GT and we saw Anuj Rawat donning the gloves behind the wickets. Karthik was reportedly feeling Mumbai’s heat and was drenched which means he should be available for this crucial game.

Mahipal Lomror looked good in his first outing donning RCB’s jersey. He is expected to keep his place in the eleven and no other changes are expected for Faf du Plessis’ side despite a loss against GT.
