T20 World Cup 2022

The ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 has not been kind to Pakistan. Ahead of the tournament, they were among the favourites to win the tournament but their performance let them down and they are now dependent on the other teams to qualify for the semi-finals.

PAK vs SA: Fakhar Zaman to miss the game against South Africa due to a knee injury

Pakistan begin their campaign with two consecutive defeats against India and Zimbabwe which dented their chances for qualifying for the semi finals. However they made a decent comeback and bagged a win against Netherlands. But this won’t be enough for them as they now need to win all their remaining games and hope for other results to go their way.

They are next slated to play South Africa on Thursday (3rd November). It’ll be a must win game for them as a loss would officially knock them out of the tournament. But ahead of the match they have suffered a blow as left-hander Fakhar Zaman is likely to miss the game against the Proteas.

The southpaw reportedly has aggravated the existing knee injury for which he has been undergoing rehabilitation during the tournament. Fakhar missed the first two games and then played a decent role with the bat in the match against Netherlands.

He scored quire fire 20 runs and looked in good touch. But it is now likely that he will miss the other games in the tournament as management wouldn’t want to risk him.
