India playing 11: Indian batsmen didn’t stand up to the task in the first ODI. They played some poor shots right through the innings except KL Rahul who was magnificent at #5, his best position in ODIs. The experienced top order of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan has been on the decline but this is their best format and India need them to come back to form right away as they need to win the next two games to win the series. The captaincy by Rohit Sharma has been inexplicable for one more time when he didn’t bowl Washington Sundar for not more than 5 overs when the off spinner was one of the best bowlers on display in the first game.
