The Indian cricket home season is well and truly underway. The Men in Blue beat their southern neigbours Sri Lanka 2-1 in the T20I series and have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODIs. Soon after the third ODI concludes on Sunday, India will take on New Zealand in three T20Is and as many ODIs. The Kiwis announced their squad on Friday morning and the BCCI have followed suit by announcing a 16-member ODI squad.
Rishabh Pant remains out after meeting with a horrific accident three weeks back. Sanju Samson is also recuperating from an injury while KL Rahul is on leave as he is tying the knot with his girlfriend Athiya Shetty on 23 January. Shahbaz Ahmed and Shardul Thakur are the surprising entries as Arshdeep Singh misses out. Rest of the squad is similar to the one playing Sri Lanka in the ongoing series.
