Incidentally, Jaydev Unadkat was released from the India Test squad just after the first Test match against Australia in order to let the left-arm pacer play for his Saurashtra state team in the Ranji Trophy final encounter against Bengal. Saurashtra captain Unadkat ended up picking as many as three wickets in the first innings as Bengal bundled out for a total of 174 runs in the first innings. Earlier, the 31-year-old made his long-awaited comeback in Test cricket in Bangladesh after some consistent performances with the ball in domestic cricket over a long period.
