IPL 2024 is in a critical stage. Rajasthan Royals have unofficially qualified for the playoffs with 16 points. They are now on a mission to retain their spot among the Top 2. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings are on the verge of qualifying for the playoffs. Now, there are no questions for a bad day for them.
The 61st match will be played at the iconic Chepauk Stadium on May 12 (3:30 pm). Let’s take a look at the head-to-head records made in the match between these two teams.
Chennai and Rajasthan have faced each other in 28 matches in IPL. Out of these 28 games, Chennai have won 15 whereas Rajasthan have come out victorious on 13 occasions.
The last time these two teams played each other was at RR’s home ground in 2023. The match witnessed RR posting a formidable total of 202/5, thanks to stellar performances from Yashasvi Jaiswal (77 off 43) and Dhruv Jurel (34 off 15). Tushar Deshpande had a figure of 2/42. CSK’s Ruturaj Gaikwad (47 off 29) and Shivam Dube (52 off 33) staged a valiant chase. And despite the touches from the bats of Moeen & Jadeja’s quick fires, CSK fell short by 32 runs. Ravi Ashwin had a great spell of 2/35.
Last season, RR won a match against the home team at Chepauk after a long 15 years.
Deepak Chahar was seen at the CSK’s dugout in the last match. There is no certainty if he will be available again or not.
