Australia cricket captain Tim Paine has made it clear that his team is still going to play hard Australian cricket against India. He admitted they want to get the Australian public’s trust but they are not concerned about being liked one bit by the opposition.

Australia will continue to compete as hard as they could: Paine

The Aussie captain was speaking with an online cricket portal ahead of the first Test against India when he opened up about the changes in the Australian team’s attitude after the ball-tampering saga.

He said that they are still going to play hard Australian cricket. He admitted that Johannesburg was a really strange circumstance and a difficult game to play in for everyone, but he noted that going into Dubai the guys competed as hard as they could and they will continue to, and they have got some more senior guys coming back now.

Paine feels that with Hazlewood, Starc and Cummins, that is only going to help guys grow with confidence around them. He also explained that with guys like Travis Head and Marcus Harris, when you’ve got Hazlewood and Starc and Cummins running in, it’s a bit easier to play that confident, aggressive style of cricket that Australia want to play and his team certainly wants to play.

Paine wants to keep the focus on their skills

The Australian captain believes that their No.1 strength is their skill, so they have got to play hard cricket in terms of making it difficult for guys to bat against them and difficult to bowl against them. He revealed that they want to make it an uncomfortable environment for people to play against Australia, but at the same time they want to do it mainly by our skills.
