Finally, after all the talks and predictions, there will be cricket played between Australia and India. On December 06th, the Adelaide Oval will see the beginning of what could be a historic Test series between the two teams.

Several cricketers believe this is India’s best chance to win in Australia and for that to happen, India would need to take the lead in the first Test. And for this, these three players will play a crucial role.

#3. Murali Vijay-

If not for Prithvi Shaw’s twisted ankle, Vijay would be warming benches. But now he will be opening India’s innings. His brutal hundred in the warm-up game was more of a statement of intent and make no mistake this series is decisive for his international career.

Vijay likes Australian conditions as he scored plenty of runs in the previous tour and more importantly, he has a habit of scoring runs in the first match of the series.

#2. Virat Kohli-

There is already so much written and talked about him. But a key thing to note is that on most occasions when Kohli the batsman has thrived he has ended up on the losing side.

He was outstanding in Test series in England, South Africa, Australia, and even the last two World T20s but his team didn’t win those series or tournaments.

This series is Kohli’s chance to dominate with the bat and as a team. The stage is set for cricket’s biggest rock star to perform!

#1. Jasprit Bumrah-

There is a reason, Bumrah is ahead of Kohli in this list. India’s chances of winning depend on how quickly their bowlers get rid of the depleted Aussie batting unit.

Indeed the bigger contest is between India’s batsmen and Aussie bowlers but if Bumrah can step up and rattle Australia’s batting then India’s batsmen will have an edge over Australian bowlers.

Just six Tests old, Bumrah is already India’s X-factor in the bowling department. He skids the ball and bowls with an awkward angle. These aspects can be a huge asset in Australia and with Smith And Warner’s absence, he has the chance to deliver India their first series win in Australia.
