England vs India 1st Test: England are currently hosting India in the first of the five-match Test series in Nottingham. This exciting Test series also marks the start of the 2021-23 cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC). England skipper Joe Root won the toss and opted to bat first on a green Trent Bridge wicket.

Bumrah Takes Rory Burns Wicket in the first over of the match

After losing yet another toss and being asked to bowl first, Team India got off to an incredible start in the first Test. India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah bowled a beautiful delivery to get rid of England opener Rory Burns in just the first over of the match. Both of India’s new ball bowlers, Bumrah and Mohammed Shami bowled tight lines upfront taking good advantage of the helpful conditions to put the hosts batters under pressure.

However, England’s No.3 Zak Crawley looked in a brilliant touch in the first session on Day 1 of this first Test against India. However, Mohammed Siraj then removed Crawley with an amazing in-swinging delivery. There was a big drama witnessed on the field as India captain Virat Kohli first wasted a Decision Review System (DRS) on the right-hander but then wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant was really confident off a caught-behind appeal in the same over and was literally pleading to his skipper to go for the DRS. The replays actually showed that there was an inside edge off Crawley’s bat. He got dismissed after scoring 27 runs off 68 balls.
