India vs Bangladesh- The Big Picture

After weeks of pulsating action and edge-of-a-seat thrill, India and Bangladesh will fight it out in the finals of the 2018 Asia Cup to stake their claim as the rightful ‘Kings of Asia’.

While India strolled their way into the finals following comfortable wins over Pakistan and Bangladesh in the Super Fours, Bangladesh, despite, losing the services of their two stalwarts in Tamim and Shakib, fought admirably to Pakistan by 37 runs in the virtual semi-final last night. This will be Bangladesh’s second consecutive appearance in the finals of the Asia Cup- third in last four editions.

4– India and Bangladesh have featured in four knockout encounters, i.e 2015 WC Quarter-Final, 2016 Asia Cup final, 2017 Champions Trophy Semi-Final and the Nidahas Trophy final earlier this year. The Men in Blue won on all four occasions.

Three- Bangladesh have made to the finals of the Asia Cup in three of the last four editions. While they were beaten by Pakistan in the 2012 edition, the Men in Blue pipped the Tigers in 2016 by eight wickets.

50.68– Mushfiqur Rahim is one of the three players to average 50+ while batting at No.4 since 2014. In 43 innings Rahim has racked up 1926 runs which include five hundred.

11- India is unbeaten in the last eleven matches of Asia Cup. Their last defeat dates back to the 2014 edition where they lost to Pakistan in a last-over humdinger.
