Australian pace bowler Mitchell Starc has revealed that he knows Indian skipper Virat Kohli probably a bit better than some of his teammates and feels that he will have a few chats with him over the upcoming series.
It is anticipated that the series between Australia and India will be a high-voltage drama and there will be few sparks between the players. However, Starc thinks contrary to this.
In an interview to an Australian website, he noted that he doesn’t get that feeling at all. He revealed that they had some good battles on the field through the previous series, all in good fun and had a few laughs about it and they caught up after one of the Test matches.
The left-arm pacer is sure hat he will have a few chats with the Indian skipper over this series and will share a laugh and chat about the series once it’s done.
The pace bowler explained that he got to know the Indian batsman a fair bit off the field and he thinks that he probably knows him a bit better than some of his Australian teammates.
According to Starc, the general public sees what a competitor Kohli is and how much he loves the challenge of performing home and away and to be one of the best players in the world.
He revealed that he has got to see a bit off the field, where Kohli is very different. The Aussie cricketer noted that Kohli is such a nice guy off the field, he has got a lot of time for everyone and just loves to be part of the boys, whether its playing FIFA or being around the team room.
Star feels that in a similar way to perhaps himself and some of the others, there’s a bit of white-line fever there when you get on the cricket field and you just want to perform your best for your country.
