Afghan considers the result as a win

The match between India and Afghanistan produced the most enthralling result in the Asia Cup as it ended in a tie. The Afghanistan cricketers are ecstatic with the result and are happy with the fact that they prevented a strong team like India from winning. Their captain Asghar Afghan said that his team will consider this result as a win. He stated that when you tie with a team like India, it’s like winning because they usually chase easily.

Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony the skipper Asghar Afghan said that this result is good for the fans as well. He noted that his team played good cricket in Asia Cup. He further added that the way his team finished today, he is proud. He further added that the credit goes to the guys.

It is history for Afghanistan: Afghan

The skipper spoke about his experience of playing in the Asia Cup. He noted that they have never played such cricket before in Asia Cup and he considered this as history for Afghanistan.

After scoring 252 runs in their 50 overs, Afghanistan restricted India to 252 runs and secured a tie in a match which technically had no consequence on the points table. India have already reached the finals while Afghanistan are crashed out of the team.

The skipper applauds Shahzad 

Mohammad Shahzad was the hero for Afghanistan in this game. The opener smashed 124 runs off just 116 balls to give the team a flying start.

The captain applauded the opening batsman and said that what we saw today was the real Shahzad. Afghan pointed out that the batsman played positive cricket on a spinning track. At the same time Afghan noted that unfortunately Shahzad’s best came in the last match.
