Not taking Windies lightly: Indian leg-spinner

India defeated Windies in the Test series with ease and in the ODI series too, the visitors are playing without some of their big players. Hence, a lot of former cricketers and analysts have admitted that India has the upper hand in the series but Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has made it clear that he is not going to take Windies lightly.

Chahal believes Windies have game changers and big hitters 

The leg-spin bowler was speaking with an online news portal ahead of the ODI series. He said that Windies are an amazing side in limited overs cricket. He also pointed out that they have game changers and big hitters and hence he believes it is going to be an exciting series.

Windies series a good preparation for Australia series: Chahal 

After the five-match ODI series against Windies, India will travel to Australia to play a bilateral series against Aussies. The Indian leg-spinner has set his eyes on this big tour and said that the limited overs series against the Windies will be a good preparation for him for the tour of Australia.

He stated that he just wants to give his best in the Windies series and wishes to be fully prepared for the Australian tour.

Chahal admits he failed to take wickets in Asia cup and England tour 

In the ODI series against England, Chahal claimed only two wickets in three matches and in the Asia Cup he was wicket-less in two matches. The leg-spinner is aware of his dipping performance.

He admitted that he failed to take too many wickets in these two series. But at the same time, he feels that he learned a lot from both the Asia Cup and the England tour.

When asked about his bowling plans, Chahal said that his mantra is to put pressure and take wickets. He also believes that sometimes controlling the run flow is more important than taking wickets and he likes to try different variations and confuse the batsmen.
