Quinton de Kock

After drubbing Sri Lanka 5-0 in the ODI series, South Africa will be eager to repeat their heroics in the T20I series. On the other hand, Sri Lanka are searching for the magic that won them the Test series and the T20I series presents them a chance to finish off this tour on a high note.

Both teams have plenty of match-winners and in the first T20I these three players will play a key role in the SA vs SL 1st T20I.

#3. Anrich Nortje-

The young pacer has made an impression for bowling at express pace and was highly effective in the recent Mzansi Super League. He is known for his fast bowling bursts in T20 cricket and it will be interesting to see how he handles the challenges of international cricket.

He is hailed as one of the most promising prospects in South Africa and he knows that a good show here can still open the door for him for the ICC 2019 ODI World Cup.

#2. Imran Tahir-

The leg-spinner will be key for South Africa in the middle overs. Over the years, Imran Tahir has found a way of dominating the batsmen in the unhelpful South African conditions but this time his job will be tougher as Sri Lankan batsman are good players of spin bowling and have the muscle to hit big shots as well.

Tahir has an economy of 6.77 in T20Is which is highly impressive and he strikes every 13 balls. Thus, Sri Lanka will be wary of him in the first T20I.

#3. Quinton de Kock-

The man in form, Quinton de Kock will be Sri Lanka’s biggest threat in the T20I series. The wicket-keeper batsman is in tremendous form as he has slammed four fifties in the ODI series.

Importantly de Kock scores his runs at a brisk pace and thus a quick start from him can take the game away from Sri Lanka in no time.
