SL vs SA, SA Playing 11: A Day after the squad for the T20 World Cup has been announced, the Proteas will take on Sri Lanka for a 3 match T20I series. They were hammered 2-1 in the recently concluded ODI series and have a point to prove against the home side. With the regular captain Temba Bavuma forced to sit out due to a finger injury, T20I debutant Keshav Maharaj will most probably step in as the skipper. Former captain and wicketkeeper Quinton De Kock returns to the playing XI after getting rested for the ODIs. The decision regarding who will lead the side is still not made by CSA.
Team News
The biggest plus for South Africa while moving to the T20Is is the addition of Quinton De Kock in the eleven. Their premier batsman will be back in the side and will replace Klassen behind the stumps as well. Aiden Markram who came back to form is expected to partner him at the top with Hendricks, Vand der Dussen, and Miller likely to form the middle order. With the pitch expected to be on the slower side, they will go with the spin trio of Keshav Maharaj, Shamsi and Fortuin. The toss-up for the second seamer is likely to be between Nortje and Magala.
