The Indian team has reached Australia for a lengthy tour and soon after arriving in Australia, Kohli has taken to the social media to interact with his fans.

He uploaded a picture with wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant on Twitter and said, ‘Back to Australia. Looking forward to the next few weeks with this champion’.

Pant gets a massive opportunity

The young cricketer has been included in India’s T20I team as the designated wicket-keeper. The chairman of selectors recently stated that they are looking for the back-up wicket-keeper for MS Dhoni in the white ball format and hence have given chance to Pant and Dinesh Karthik.

Pant impressed everyone with his batting in Test cricket. He started his Test career with a bold six and then smashed his debut hundred against England. In the recent Test series against Windies, he scored two quickfire knocks to further establish his claim over the wicket-keeper’s spot in the team.

However, his work behind the stumps has raised a few questions and several former cricketers believe that he is an unfinished product.

The three T20Is against Australia present a massive opportunity for Pant to make his mark in Indian cricket and to grab a permanent spot in India’s batting line-up.
