Virat Kohli in line to equaling legendary Pakistani player’s record

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has a good possibility of making another record for himself in the second Test against West Indies which is starting on Friday in Hyderabad. India won the first match but the Windies will have a chance at redemption.

The loss for them was massive- an innings and 272 runs. Centuries were scored by Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, and debutant Prithvi Shaw. This win also helped India set a new record for their biggest win. Earlier it was against Afghanistan by an innings and 262 runs.
Kohli, aged 29, has played 72 Tests so far. He has 24 centuries to his name so far. His 25th century will equal him with former Pakistani captain Inzamam-ul-Haq. Haq scored 8830 runs in his 120-match long career at an average of 49.60. Kohli has stellar figures so far; he has scored 6286 Test runs so far at an average of 54.66.

Kohli currently occupies the 21st position on the list of highest number of centuries in Tests. The list is topped by legendary former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who has 15921 runs from 200 Tests, with 49 centuries and an average of 53.78.

In ODIs, Kohli ranks second in the list of most centuries. He has 35 centuries to his name and is second only to Sachin Tendulkar, who has 49 centuries. Kohli has an excellent record of 9779 runs in 211 ODIs at an average of 58.20 runs. Overall, it looks like Kohli will end the year with some massive achievements.
