India defeated in the first T20I against Australia

Team India had a bitter start to their campaign in Australia as they were defeated by four runs in the opening T20I match.

Indian bowlers especially the spinners were thrashed by the duo of Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis which enabled the home team to amass a big score.

However, despite a good show by opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan and Dinesh Karthik, India failed to chase the target.

The key issue to address for Kohli and the think tank is the balance of the team. The absence of Hardik Pandya has forced Kohli to go with Krunal which results in thining the spin bowling.

If India wishes to level the series then the team management has to find a way to field a strong bowling line-up along with a batting line-up that has enough depth.

Also, the team has to check where KL Rahul fits in the playing XI. In the first game, he batted at number 3 which pushed India’s best batsman Virat Kohli to number four. This plan didn’t work for the team, so it will be interesting to see how India plan their batting line-up on Friday.
